Berkshire County: Hunting for History

Right outside the Berkshire County line, sits the picturesque town of Brimfield, Massachusetts. It rests in the Pioneer Valley surrounded by apple orchards, horse farms and wooded hills. It's hardly changed since it was founded in 1731.

Most of Brimfield's 4,000 residents lead a quiet and simple life, but three times a year the town transforms as 250,000 visitors pour in for the largest antique show in the country.

The Brimfield Antique Show began in the 1950's. Now, over 5,000 dealers show up to sell everything from handmade furniture built hundreds of years ago to trinkets you might expect to find at your local yard sale.

Whether you're looking for an old grandfather clock, a  typewriter or some funky costume jewelry, there's no better place to hunt for treasure than this historic mart.
