Bali: Colorful Incense

You'll spot these little rainbow packages burning with incense scattered all over Bali. They're called Canang Sari and are gifts of gratitude for the Hindu Gods. Balinese women prepare them by the hundreds daily to be placed in homes, temples and businesses. Each colored flower symbolizes a different deity and paper money is placed on top to complete the offering.

The above photo was taken at a meditation cave from the 9th century built on the Goa Gajah Temple grounds. Even with visitors popping their heads in and out, the cold stone walls emanate energy.
