If you decide to take a day trip to the old miners' town of Julian, don't forget to stop along the way at the home of the famous Julian Hard Cider.
You've probably seen this fresh and fizzy drink sold in big bottles in your local grocery store. You can get it on tap straight from aged cedar barrels in the big barn right before the main entrance to town. Inside there's also a small antique mart, wine tasting room and cafe. On Sundays, they host a barbeque with live music.
